UPDATE: SBS 2003 Exam in Beta This Week

Microsoft has released latest exam, this time for Small Business Server implementers, to beta testers.

Update: As Microsoft certification program managers have planned to do, they've released exam 70-282, Designing, Deploying, and Managing a Network Solution for a Small- and Medium-Sized Business to beta testers this week; the exam is available until Sept. 28 (click here). Microsoft program managers announced the exam, which is aimed at implementers of the upcoming Small Business Server 2003, at the MCP TechMentor conference in San Diego (see "Small Business Server Gets First Exam" by Dian Schaffhauser in the News Archive).

The exam, numbered 71-282 while in beta, is available at both Prometric and Vue registration sites. Microsoft offers the exam for free to qualified individual; the company typically sends out invitations to selected subscriber of the MCP Newsflash (click here for details).

Microsoft Press training and exam preparation materials currently do not exist for Exam 70-282; the publishing group hasn't acknowledged whether any books are planned. Microsoft Learning is currently developing Course 2395, Designing, Deploying, and Managing a Network Solution for a Small- and Medium-Sized Business, which is expected later this year.
