Microsoft Partners with Citrix on CCIA

Six Microsoft exams figure into the requirements for Citrix's vaunted, revamped CCIA title.

Microsoft exams have been added to the Citrix Certified Integration Architect certification, a title that's aimed at implementers of Citrix's MetaFrame Access Suite. Microsoft and Citrix made the announcement earlier this week. CertCities.com, a sister site to MCPmag.com, reported the new CCIA requirements last week (see "Citrix Releases CCIA Requirements" at http://certcities.com/editorial/news/story.asp?EditorialsID=529).

The CCIA requires passage of a battery of six exams. Among the requirements, Citrix includes that candidates pass one of the following design-based Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 exams:

  • 70-219: Designing a Windows 2000 Directory Services Infrastructure
  • 70-220: Designing Security for a Windows 2000 Network
  • 70-221: Designing a Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure
  • 70-226: Designing Highly Available Web Solutions with Windows 2000 Server
  • 70-297: Designing a Windows Server 2003 Active Directory and Network Infrastructure
  • 70-298: Designing Security for a Windows Server 2003 Network

Citrix's certifications are popular among MCPs. Holders of the Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator, which is a component of the CCIA, rank among the top 20 non-Microsoft certifications held by respondents to MCP Magazine's 2003 Salary Survey.

Except for comments in the press release, Microsoft Learning had no comment as of this writing.
