Free Training Benefits Software Assurance Customers
New program provides for free training for those deploying Microsoft software from Microsoft Gold Partners for Learning Solutions participants.
Microsoft Corporation is trying out a new pilot program through its Software
Assurance program that provides for free software training. The program is being
doled to resellers and VARs participating in Software Assurance, who get free
training vouchers that can be used by the enterprise's employees who are tasked
with deployment of Microsoft software at participating Microsoft Gold Certified
Partners for Learning Solutions.
Dubbed "Matchmaker," the pilot program was launched with three major
resellers: Softmart, Softchoice and Software House International, as well as
60 learning partners in the U.S.
Training vouchers was tops among benefits requested by Software Assurance customers,
according to Ginelle Cousins, lead marketing manager for Microsoft Learning. "We
want our customers to take full advantage of their training benefits because we
believe training enhances the customers’ experiences deploying and using
the software,” she explained.
If the program proves successful, Microsoft will expand the program beyond
pilot participants this December. Details on the pilot program were not fully
disclosed as of this writing.
