Free MCP Exam for Military Personnel
Microsoft partners up to offer free exam voucher to military personnel; limited time offer.
Microsoft and a few of its partners are funding a pilot program that offers U.S. active-duty and reserve military and National Guard members to take a Microsoft Certified Professional exam for free.
The DANTES (Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support) Certification Program, which funds the program, provides one free exam voucher for any MCP exam, which can be used at any Pearson Vue testing center worldwide.
Eligible military personnel are advised to sign up for the program through the DANTES Certification Program Web site, in order to find out if they qualify for the voucher. Registration into the program should also be done prior to scheduling an exam, in order to obtain the electronic voucher code.
The Microsoft Pilot Test Voucher Initiative actually began November 1, 2004, but the program will run its course through November 1, 2006. According to the DANTES Web site, there are also a limited number of vouchers that will be made available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The free voucher has a shelf life of two years from the date of issue.
To sign up for the program, go to https://www.dantes-microsoft-test.com/.
