Project 2007 Exam Beta Next Week
Microsoft to put Project exam through paces with beta testers for two weeks starting Tuesday.
MCPs who want to prove skills with Project 2007 will have a chance to do so next week, when the Microsoft Learning Group puts one its upcoming Project exams into the beta testing process.
Exam 70-632 TS: Office Project 2007--Configuring will be available for besting from April 24 through May 8. Registration is already open and those who want to take it can register through Pearson Vue and Prometric testing centers as exam 71-632.
According to the exam guide, Microsoft expects candidates to have expertise working with Project 2007 in a client configuration, as well as have experience organizing and planning a project using the software. The guide also states that "A familiarity with key project management concepts and terminology is recommended."
Those who pass exam 70-632 will earn the MCTS: Office Project 2007 Desktop Configuration. As well, the exam will count toward Microsoft's new project management certification, details of which were unveiled back in October. Passing this exam is one step in the process; as of this writing, the project management track hasn't been posted to the MCP Web site.
